There has been a lot going on recently. There was a fantastic seminar in Santa Clara, California with hours of information and inspiration given by some of the top folks in internet marketing and promotions, and motivational too !! There will be copies of the event available soon and I will let you know how to get them in the next issue. The main point of bringing this up? There were ten times the amount of people viewing the event live via internet transmission than were at the event !! Let's face it.....the internet is maturing.
You must always put things in prospective however, Too many expect things to happen quicker on the internet than anywhere else. Sure the transmission rates of the exchange of information is ever growing, but business is business.
IT still takes time, investment, and hard work to make any business a success.
You can make your business profitable but the amount of time it will take is directly determined by the investments you make. There are 'Basic' items you must have. 1. a computer 2. an internet connection 3. a lead generating source 4. a good program to contact those leads 5. a product that will earn you income
If you don't have ANY computer expertise, there are some associations that will tutor you on what you need to know how to do in order to get the basics accomplished. ( how to copy and paste, re-size windows, etc). I would suggest you open your 'tutorial' program on your version of windows and take the course, or get into a class at your local junior college. Not everyone can get Cable or DSL, let alone afford any sort of T-1. Most get on with an ISP via a 'dial up' connection. The pricing varies too widely across the world but many are low cost today, depending upon your location. What you are giving up for the types of services is the speed of your computer's 'downloading'. This is NOT only as many associate the term 'downloading' with but the actual opening of a web browser ( this is a download too ). The 'Bottleneck' on the internet today is the volume of people on the internet itself. With hundreds of thousands getting on the internet EVERY day for the first time, along with the millions of existing users the chances of YOUR business making a profit is in your favor. The problem is not the programs you are marketing but your persistence in getting your site on someone's computer monitor. On the average someone will have to see your advertisement or site SEVEN times before they will make a determination to purchase or not.
DEPENDING ON YOUR PRODUCT AND HOW THEY FOUND YOU
The still number one way to get your site on the first page of 'results' when someone enters a 'search' term (keyword) is by PAID INCLUSION with a major search engine. The next best way is by spending a lot of time submitting your site, either manually ( as some engines require ) or by the use of automated programs. I submit to over Three million places a day of which over 20,000 are search engines of various types. Time I spend doing this? Two hours Then I spend another hour or so collecting my e-mail leads via various sources, processing them, and sending out my advertisements.

REMEMBER: The cost of your product is not as important as you may think. The benefits will determine EVERYTHING. What it will do for them.
